To use the platform seamlessly in Nigeria, there’s an approach to take that will prevent you from experiencing any difficulty in using PayPal to receive money in the country and unlock all the prominent features that come with your account.

When I first opened my PayPal account in 2019, I made some mistakes (based on the source information i got) which I later found out in 2021, hence, the reason I closed that particular Paypal account immediately having received and sent a reasonable amount on money.

Before you open a PayPal account, you want to determine which account is best for you.
If you are not expecting frequent usage of your account or for high-level online business like
selling on Ebay, Dropshipping, Ecommerce etc., then you might want to go with a Personal
Account against a Business Account as we will use in this post.

With a Personal account, you do not get the strict processes as compared to a business account.
However, with a business account, you can easily use your genuine documents and verify the account because as a Business Account you can open it from any country of the world, hence, the freedom to either use a South African, Dubai, or a Lesotho account, and more.

For my last account, I used a Dubai, but this time, I am going with a Lesotho Business account.

How to Create a Valid PayPal Account That Sends And Receives Funds?

Opening a PayPal account can send and receive fund in Nigeria is simple and though slightly tricky. I noticed some Nigerians make this mistake by going to the official website (http://paypal.com/ng) that’s where you get it all wrong.

Following the default takes you to a PayPal Nigeria Official website that when you’re done setting up your account, you can only send out fund but can not receive funds.
Rather, follow these steps below to create a working PayPal Account that can send and receive funds.

What are The Requirements for Opening a Verified Paypal Account in Nigeria?

• You need a valid email address. (this is the primary requirement, because PayPal would attempt to validate the email address by sending a message).
  You would need to confirm the existence of the email address by following the steps in the message they send.
• You would also need a Visa or Mastercard linked to a Nigerian bank account. This could be a credit or debit card. This is necessary to verify your PayPal account.
  The service would debit a tiny amount from the card and once you confirm the transaction, the account would be fully verified.

Now that you know what is required, here are the steps to create a verified working and permanent PayPal account that can send and receive fund here in Nigeria.

Step 1. Go to the PayPal Country you want to open on account and select it. For Dubai, here is the link — https://www.paypal.com/ae

Step 2. →  Click on “Sign up” at your top right to select the type of accounts you want.

For me, it is a Lesotho Business account.

Step 3. →  Select your account type and click on “Continue”.

Step 4. → Enter your email address and Password to sign up.

Step 5. →  Enter your real nomes as on your National ID or International Passport.

Step 5b. → Enter a business name if you have one, use what you like or your name, and enter other
information as stated in the infographic below.

• Legal business nome — “Finbaze Blog”
• Business phone number – change to Nigeria (+234) & use your real phone number.
• Business address – Enter your address as on your Bank statement/Utility Bill.
• City / Town / Village — Enter your city
• State / Province / Region — Enter your state
• Postal code – Search for your area/city code on Google and enter it.
• Primary currency – US Dollar.

Step 5c. → Read the Terms and tick the box to agree. Then click on “Agree and Continue”.

Note: Fill in your factual information, name, surname, Phone Number Etc…
Then Check the box to agree to their User Agreement .

Step 6. → On the next page, select your Business type.

Step 6b. → Select the appropriate option that describes your online business.

Step 7. → Enter your details below. Select “Nationality as Nigeria” and enter your correct details.

Moving on, enter the correct details.

Choose your preferred means of verification

• Drivers License
• Voters Card
• International Passport
• National Identity Card

Step 7. →  Enter the correct home address (for the purpose of verification).
And if the information is the same as with your Business address, just tick the box and click on “Submit” to move on.

Step 8. → Congrats. Your PayPal account is now created. ✅

Step 9. → Go to the used email address and click on “Confirm your email “ to verify your account.

Step 9a.→ Still, in your email account, you will see a button to set up your account. Go ahead and
click on it if you ore ready to link your cord and other properties.

Step 2. →  Enter the amount and click on “Next”.
Note: PayPal will take a $5 charge and you will be left with the remaining. This is the same for
all amounts.

Step 3. →  Go ahead and click on “Transfer now”.

How to Log into your PayPal Accounts From Nigeria?

When logging into your account, make sure you use the correct URL.

1. Maintain the same IP address.
While I don’t want to get into the complexity of terms, the thing is, the Nigerian IP address is dynamic, which is why many people use VPN to operate their PayPal account.
First off, you do not need a VPN to operate this account — unless you used the same to open a USA,
Canada, or UK PayPal account.
Coming back, now, if you had used MTN network to open your PayPal account, try as much as possible
to use the same and operate the account.

2. Increase your transaction limits relatively and not abruptly. Here is what I mean.
When operating your online business, do not scale the transactions too aggressively.
For instance, you used to transact 20 per day, and all of a sudden, you are doing 1k per day
